Maputo hosts Data and AI conference ‘Data Wave 2024’

Data Wave 2024, one of the most important events on Data and the Artificial Intelligence branch, will take place next Saturday, 14 September, in Maputo. The event will feature panels, lectures and practical sessions called codelabs.

The themes of the discussions will be Data Governance, with representatives from regulators, the transport sector, Data Centres and Cloud providers such as Emidio Amadebai, general director of Raxio Data Centres DataCentre, Ronny Mabokela, researcher and head of the TechEntrepreneurship Centre at the University of Johannesburg and Rui Ceita, IT director at DP World, among other prominent leaders in the data sector. 

According to the organisers’ note, in the afternoon, ’the event will become even more exciting. Participants will be divided into two tracks, one with practical lab sessions, where they will have the chance to apply data management techniques and tools, and keynotes given by national and international speakers, who will bring their vast experiences and insights into trends and innovations in the sector.’

Organised by Mozdevz, the Data Wave 2024 conference is not just for developers. 

“Data is a cross-cutting topic that affects many sectors. We’ve invited professionals and enthusiasts from all areas – be it statistics, maths, banking, health, transport or any other sector – to join us. This will be a space for exchanging experiences, mutual learning and networking between all those who share a passion for data”  the statement added.
