Cape Town Art Fair with over 100 exhibitors
The Investec Cape Town Art Fair, considered Africa’s largest art fair, will take place from 16 to 18 February 2024. The fair will bring together more than 100 exhibitors, offering a platform for galleries, collectors, curators and artists from all over the world to create connections of interest in contemporary art.
The theme of this 11th edition of the fair is Unbound, which means “without restrictions” in a literal translation, suggesting freedom from restrictive narratives and a focus on emerging, diverse and “unbound” voices as catalysts for the creation of new possibilities.
The Investec Cape Town Art Fair event will celebrate the city of Cape Town, “Unbound”, offering visitors a programme packed with opportunities to explore the city’s artistic life and experience its cultural institutions, meet the artists and interact with the creative community, gaining an unprecedented insight into the South African and international art world.
The programme includes talks, walks, parties and opportunities to explore the city’s artistic ecosystem. Highlights include the unprecedented collaboration between South African fashion design luminaries, Yawa Off White Capsule and Lukhanyo Mdingi, the new focus on ceramics and GENERATIONS, a first-of-its-kind section featuring dialogues between 10 artists from different generations in dialogue with each other to create intergenerational conversations and generate a deeper understanding of emerging and established voices.
