OpenAI unveils films produced with the help of Artificial Intelligence

A select group of digital content creators, designers and filmmakers tried out OpenAI’s new video creation tool and obtained results that they considered surreal.

The application is called Sora and has the ability to create audiovisual content using only text-based instructions. Sora is able to generate complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of movement and precise details of the subject and background. The model understands not only what the user has asked for in the prompt, but also how these things exist in the physical world.

This is yet another advance by Artificial Intelligence, this time looking to deepen its influence in the film industry. The group of creators, which includes digital content agencies and experimental directors, was the first to use the application, creating conceptual and artistic visual representations.

The filmmakers emphasise the freedom to express ideas and unleash their imagination with Sora, without worrying about budget issues or technical limitations.

Now, OpenAI wants to “sell” the idea to Hollywood studios to counter the negative narrative about AI in the film industry, making it possible, for example, to make big productions on a low budget.

Check out the films and draw your own conclusions.
