10 years imagining what comes next.
From 23 October to 1 November, Maputo Fast Forward transforms JFS Tower, in the heart of Maputo, into a laboratory for art, technology and critical thinking.
In its tenth edition, the festival invites audiences to step into the Infinite Mirror and question a reality increasingly shaped by algorithms, artificial intelligence, digital networks and emerging technologies.
Who programs the world we see? Who decides what is real? And how can we, from Maputo, imagine different futures?
For ten days, three floors of JFS Tower will be transformed into immersive installations and experiences, accompanied by an International Conference, Knowledge Circles, performances, video mapping, virtual and augmented reality, workshops, the MFF Bazaar, gaming, family activities and much more.
Among the names already confirmed are Achille Mbembe, Mia Couto, Wakanyi Hoffman, Severino Ngoenha, Russel Hlongwane, Zayaan Khan, Jonathan Nindorera, Karingana wa Karingana and Kid Kreol & Boogie, alongside many other artists, thinkers and creators from Mozambique, Africa and around the world.
Founded in 2016, Maputo Fast Forward reaches its 10-year milestone while maintaining the same ambition that shaped its origins: to create in Maputo a space where different disciplines, perspectives and geographies come together to think about the present and imagine the future.
This year, that conversation takes place inside the Infinite Mirror.
And the question is simple:
If we already live inside a reality that we help construct, what reality do we want to create next?
